Fund Raising 2008 - 2009
Derbyshire Dales Careline was
selected as the local charity for the Club to support
during membership year 2008 - 2009
At the annual General Meeting on the 11th March 2009, Alan Sale
presented a cheque for £400.00 to Julie Hill, the manager and
Stephen Hill The Chairman, of Careline.
In a short talk to Club members, Julie explained
how 68 volunteers, some working from home, the rest
from their office at St Oswald’s Hospital, call every day of the
year, over 90 elderly people living alone.
The area covered by the service is the Southern Derbyshire Dales,
which includes 53 villages, from Etwall & Doveridge in the South to
Wirksworth & Hartington in the North.
Though core funding for Carline comes from the National Lottery &
the Primary CareTrust, local donations play a key part in keeping
this award winning charity going.
